This is quite obviously a hoax, albeit a rather good one. Watch the video. You never get to see the “airplane” except for from the rather strange vantage point of a rear facing camera that shows the “pilot” from about the shoulders down and some simple looking controls. Note how the turns taken by the airplane in flight seem to have no relationship to the pilot’s movement of the controls. Several times the “plane” makes banking maneuvers that would require at least some movement of the stick, but the stick remains centered between the “pilot's” knees. -- K4GDW ...

w0o+!!! I was actually a little worried about this due to some of the courts nutty recent decisions like giving enemy combatants access to our courts and striking down the death penalty for child rapists. UPDATE: The article finally came out with more details. It was a 5-4 decision. In the dissent, Justice John Paul Stevens showed his total ignorance by saying …that the majority "would have us believe that over 200 years ago, the Framers made a choice to limit the tools available to elected officials wishing to regulate civilian uses of weapons." And that …such evidence "is nowhere to be found." What a moron. The entire Constitution is one giant list of li ...

This guy, Representative James Fagan of Massachusetts opposes Jessica’s Law, which has been passed in several states to impose stricter, mandatory, minimum sentences for child sex offenders.

I bet this decision was from the same five morons who found that the terrorists and other illegal combatants in US custody have the right to access US civil courts. These judges really need to get their heads on straight and realize that they’re not supposed to create law. I find nothing at all cruel or unusual about executing a child rapist. Child rapists deserve a slow and painful death. -- K4GDW ...

According to this FoxNews.com article, “…students from a far-right Jewish theological seminary at a West Bank settlement recently built a crude rocket and fired it a nearby Palestinian village…” I think this is great. It’s about time the Palestinians got a taste of their own medicine. I’ve made my opinions on the “Palestinian issue” many times, although it’s been a while and I’m having difficulty locating one of those old blog entries. So, I’ll rehash it one more time. How many of you guys went to Sunday school as children? Do you remember the lessons about the children of Israel and the Philistines. Here’s the short version. During one of the times Israel was brought out of bondage, I’m forgetting which, and went back home God gave them clear instructions to wipe out th ...

I find this to be just a little dubious: “McCain has been in a dispute with the Federal Election Commission, whose chairman earlier this year said McCain needed commission approval to decline the funds.”
The FEC claims that McCain needs FEC approval to decline public campaign financing, yet no such statement has been made about Obama. Why the difference? Why should McCain need this approval but Obama apparently doesn’t? Obama Opts Out of Public Campaign Finance System - America’s Election HQ ...

PETA apparently dislikes Jessica Simpson because of this shirt. Personally, I couldn’t care less about who PETA likes or dislikes. Rather, PETA disliking someone is a plus in my book. If PETA doesn’t like you, you can’t be all bad. Otherwise PETA would love you.
I wonder what PETA thinks about Usama Bin Laden. Granted, he’s a little outside their realm of concern, but if PETA were to come out with a statement condemning him or ...

According to this FoxNews.com article, a “human rights” group has had 11 former detainees from Abu Ghraib and G’tmo examined medically and have found proof of them being tortured by their US captors. What a bunch of crap. I’ll believe that our military regularly tortures POW’s only if I see authenticated documents in which someone in authority, such as the Joint Chiefs, have condoned it. Possibly a memo from the Joint Chiefs to some general ordering them to ignore torture or to actually perform it. Lacking such evidence, and knowing that, “an al-Qaida training manual instructs members, if captured, to assert they were tortured during interrogation.” I find it difficult to consider claims by the detainees of torture which I didn’t witness, or claims by groups who have opposed the war, credible. ...

Uhhh… what strange and funky disease might these microbes cause if they infect a human? I like the idea of “renewable petroleum” but I’m not sure I like the idea of genetically modifying microbes to do it. I seem to remember a fat blocking drug that came out a few years ago. Xenical listed some rather disturbing side effects. Among them was, “gas with oily discharge.” In other words, you crap your pants. I wonder if an infection with these new microbes might cause similar or even worse symptoms. Shudder… Haven’t these folks seen that Will Smith movie I Am Legend where a virus that was genetically altered to fight cancer mutates and turns everyone into
