Not necessarily. I recently had to convert a ASP.Net 1.1 site over to 3.5 and there are a lot of warnings. The vast majority of them involve obsolete objects from the asp.net authentication system that is not being used. The application runs just fine and I’ll just live with those warnings until I have time to go thru and remove all of the old references to the various aspnet_* objects.
