This is where I'll list prayer requests. Things that I am praying about and would like others to pray about as well.

By K4GDW on 12/18/2008 11:35:38 AM

On Monday, I check in to the outpatient services desk at Jackson hospital here in Montgomery to have a PEG feeding tube installed as well as an IV infusion port.  The feeding tube will make it possible for me to get plenty of fluids and calories to be able to recover and the infusion port will prevent them from having to stick me over and over in the arm or hand for the chemo.

Please pray for a successful procedure and a fast recovery so I don’t miss much work.

image Hey,

I just wanted to fire off some prayer requests for everyone to consider.

Shelton, a good friend of mine from the ham radio, is about to become, again, a grandfather.  He’s traveling today to be there when the baby, a girl, is born.

Another good friend, Chris, lost his job recently.  He actually had to drive about 70 miles to pick up his pink slip.  Thankfully he already had something else lined up.

My sister, Amanda, will b ... Read More »

I have a couple of things… When I got to work this morning, I got an email indicating that a fellow employee had passed away while I was out.  Please keep the family in your prayers.

Also, I don’t often request prayers for myself, but here goes.  Yesterday I was referred to an oral surgeon in Birmingham, AL regarding a sore on the right side of my tongue.  Both the doc in Birmingham and the referring doc think it’s cancer.  We’re just waiting on the results of a biopsy taken this past Friday.  Please include me in your prayers that the biopsy will come back negative, or if not, that the tumor is still small enough and hasn’t spread so that perhaps my tongue wont need to be completely removed.

UPDATE 11/19/2008:  Today I got the results back on the biopsy.  It’s positive for “squamous cell carci ... Read More »

A fellow ham, name and callsign withheld because I don't have permission to post it on the net, recently had a "mini-stroke."  I believe those are referred to as "TIA's."  Anyway, he's feeling better now.  However, he has a family history of these events and would appreciate your prayers.

One of my colleagues named Barbara lost her father recently.  Please keep her and her family in your prayers during this time of grief.

I just got a call from a former coleague who had been having some pretty serious health issues. Praise be to God. He's doing much better after turning everything over to God and not worrying about it any more.

It just came to my attention that the wife of one of the regulars on the MS support mailing list I read has had a heart attack.  Please pray that she will make a full recovery and have no further complications.  In Jesus' name.

This past Friday, JY announced on the whootie owl net that his father had passed.  Please hold him up in your prayers.  I know how he feels as I lost my father just recently (the memorial service was held on 10/31/2007.)

Yesterday, my Mom went in to have a heart cath test done to see if blocked coronary arteries were to blame for a bad result on a stress test and some shortness of breath.  Anyway, the results were wonderful.  None of her arteries are blocked.  Praise God!  Now it's just a matter of finding out what the real problem is and addressing it.

I've got some good news, praise God.  Dad was scheduled for a biopsy of a suspicious  spot on one of his lungs today.  Just prior to performing the biopsy a follow-up MRI was done to double check where they were supposed to stick the needle.  The "node" the lung doc had wanted biopsied had shrunk so much that the biopsy technician person said there wasn't enough of it left to stick a needle in!!!! w0o+!!!!  Your continued prayers will be very much appreciated.

Thanks...
